After Brian had Dengue we decided to be a little more careful where possible so this included better use of repellents (obviously) which is about all you can do to minimise Dengue.
We also decided to update vaccination since I was due for anti tetanus anyway so went in for a chat with the travel doctor and ended up with tetanus and HepA as expected. When it came to typhoid we were given 2 choices needle or tablets, 6 of to be taken on alternate days for 3 days. He told us that although it is as yet unproven it is believed that the tablets seem to give some protection against gastro too.
We chose the tablets and have been back 3 times since with no gastro which proves absolutely nothing since we never (touch wood) get it anyway these days. It is an interesting theory though isn't it?
