Bought a BB Torch for the daughter in Denpasar because there was no option for me to buy her Christmas present elsewhere at the time. After checking Jakarta and some bargaining it was still Rp 6.25 million - near enough AU$700.
Keep in mind however that the units sold in Bali are unlocked i.e not bundled or locked into a telco package. Anything marketed in those kind of bundles is pretty nebulous as to how much are you really paying for each of the blended components. The best "unlocked" or unencumbered price I could find in Oz was near enough $700 so it's still not worth the hassle of buying in Bali - just makes me feel better.
