It's a nice enough hotel, but I wouldn't go as far as to call any of it 'gorgeous'. The grounds are huge and lovely, but it can be a long walk from one end to the other if you need reception etc, and it's very dark at night - take a torch. Good location, but I didn't like the pool and never once used it. But then I'm not big on swimming and find it hard to get in and out of pools that don't have steps.
In your price range (under $50/night) you won't get the semi outdoor bathrooms. You will be able to get an air-con standard level room which is what I stayed in for a month in 2009. Big room, comfy bed, adequate bathroom with shower over a bathtub, tv but no DVD player, and the air-con worked well. Breakfast is included but not worth wasting your time on, and from what I've read has actually gotten worse since I stayed there. The standard rooms do have a little 'kitchen' section with bench and sink, which I found very handy on a longer stay. I had a kettle and sandwich maker (mine, not provided by the hotel) so could make my own noodles or toasties for an easy meal if I wanted, plus coffee etc.
You have a nice little veranda to sit on, but the hotel lets these two annoying women stroll through the grounds and they WILL repeatedly disturb you (every day you stay there) to sell you their wares, ask to rub your feet etc. If you do buy something off them, they will play the "No change, I will bring to you later" card - but they will never bring it.
Reception staff are rude and unhelpful. Restaurant staff are not much better. The room cleaners and gardeners are, however, very friendly and will help with anything you might need.
