Our friends stayed at KajaNe last year, it was just beautiful and right on monkey forrest road. They had a Benji villa and their pool overlooked the forrest, very peaceful yet right on the main street. They do not advertise their rates but from memory they are in your price bracket.
We stay at Tegal Sari and the rooms are lovely. They also have 3 villas that we have stayed in a few times and they are really lovely. The 2 downstairs villas have their own private pool but the upstairs one does not. They do not advertise the villas, so you need to email them for availability and rates. The location is still good and they will drop you/pick you up within the ubud town area, no charge, if you don't feel like walking.
