Hello!
Arrived in Denpasar airport wednesday 23.30 PM, coming from Holland, so a small 31 hours trip! We're picked-up by an employee from Ubud Bungalow, Jln. Monkey Forest Rd. to take us there. We've been coming here for many many years now. It was fully booked! And they were having a good season. So good to hear Bali is doing great again with all the tourists. I noticed a lot of French speaking people in Ubud. We relaxed our 1st day and went to Cafe Wayan )jln Monkey Forest Rd. one of our favorite restaurants for lunch! Our waiter recognized us and gave us a warm welcome! As we asked for the bill we were served dessert, a compliment from the house for visiting them again, how nice! Then the waiter told us there would be a cremation ceremony in his hometown and invited us to come to the Public cremation ceremony in Bedulu. We will get picked up by a friend of his tomorrow, Sunday.
In the afternoon we went to our travel agent we've been using for many years now, to book our ticket to Lombok, as we are going to Gili Trawangan on Tuesday. This travel agent is very reliable, name Kunang Kunang Tours and Travel, Pengosekan Street )near Tegal Sari) We decided to fly above taking the fast boat as I fear i'll get sick if its going to be bumpy on such a long ride.......... We then will take a taxi to Teluk Nara, a beach on the coast passed Sengigi, and our Hotel will have a speedboat pick us up on the beach for transfer to the beach where our hotel is located. We'll be staying at Dsanim a Resort who had raving reviews on Tripadvisor. I'll post a JBR after we stayed there.
Last night we had a wonderful dinner at Siam Sally in Ubud. They served the best Thai food )and we've been to Thailand many times' I've ever had! The wine was pricey but I noticed wine has gone up a lot in price this year compared to last years. So this is it for now, i'll post again in a later stadium. Happy Travels, Erin
