Some good ones we like are : Dulang Cafe not far from Matahari's in Kuta square, TJ's & Un's in Poppies I, Bluefin Japanese just a bit past the Ramayana going towards the Waterbom Park, The Boardwalk at the Bali Garden Hotel on the beachfront just before Discovery Plaza and we also love going to the seaside food market just up the beachfront near Poppies I, particularly the Queens Tandoor Indian kitchen. Another good resaurant, but a bit more expensive is the Rosso Vivo at the Kuta Seaview Cottages, opposite the beach and not far past Poppies I towards Legian. Hope you enjoy them, cause we will be in 3 weeks. Taste buds are going already.
