By the way, all the child was doing was grabbing at stuff on the counter.
Re slapping - I don't even believe hitting a child is a good way to manage or discipline them, no matter what their age. Have had many a debate about this but nothing will change my mind on it. It's an easy way for the parent but it's not for me.
