kids rather than calm them - So be careful of what you advise parents do to prepare for the flight. I am in favour of full restraints with gags for kids (Hannibal Lector style) on flights as it would certainly assist us parents but I think there may be a few human rights issues etc that may be breached. Oh well we can dream.
