AA only fly to KL from Melbourne. PITA I know!!! If you want to travel AA direct to Bali you need to get to Perth. We are Melb people too and booked seats on AA from Perth to Bali next August, thinking we will fly TIGER from Melb to Perth a couple of days before and stay with rellos. Jetstar fly from Melb as do Garuda
