Just go onto the internet before you leave (eg somewhere like shoes.com) and make up a catalogue of the shoes you like (try and get pictures of views from all angles of the shoes) then note the colour you would like. Then go and see Aristo at Merry's Collection Tailors in Legian (search the archives for address instructions) and 5 - 7 days later you will have shoes :-)
I always ask him to please include the non-slip soles and I've found some of the Bali soles don't cope as well on our smooth / shiny tiles / footpaths and make sure they are a snug fit when you try them on in Bali as your feet will be hot & swollen and the leather will stretch.
Almost all of the shoes / boots in my wardrobe come from Aristo and I get many compliments on them :-) The cost around $NZ35 - 85 a pair and many are copies of designer shoes / boots worth hundreds :-)
