SPENT A GLORIOUS 10 NIGHTS IN BALI AT KUTA LAGOON. SORRY FOR LONG JBR. HOPE ITS NOT TOO BORING :)

Departing home:

Left Perth on 3rd August 2010, flying Airasia. 4.50am flight. First time on Airasia. Got the hotseats (row 3). They board the hotseat passengers first, which was pretty nice. Booked in November so patiently waited 9 months for this trip - we got great deal for $235 return per person, including taxes, fair, choosing out seats and our meals.
I was impressed with how quick the airport service was - no complaints here.
Food - we ordered sandwiches. I have been told that food on Airasia is pretty bland, but we all thought it was quite tasty, bread was a little on the dry side, but I assume it was made the day before due to our flight time, but all good.
Flight there all good all the way.

Arrival in Denpasar Airport
We arrived on time at around 8.30am.
I heard recently through the forum that there were big delays in getting through immigration. So I bolted off the plane like a mad woman lol - to discover the airport was empty we were the only plane in YAY!
I headed straight through and paid our visa. There was no line there, I was served immediately, then straight through immigration no problems. The longest part was waiting for our luggage. I estimate we were in and out the airport within half hour.
Our transfer ride to the Kuta Lagoon was waiting outside for us.

Kuta Lagoon

We arrived too early so they held our bags while we went next door to the Blue Skyz. Check in isn't til 2pm.

At about 1.30 we went back to see if any of our rooms were ready and our travel companions room was, but our room wasn't and here we were told that we cant get into our room til 7pm cause the people in it want a late checkout, but they gave us use of a private pool villa to use while waiting. All I wanted to do was unpack and settle. Never mind, got into my room at 6.30pm.

I was impressed by the size of the bed, they are advertised as double, but it's a king size. We had a beautiful pool access room. They are neat and clean.

We didn't get to use the pool as much as we had hoped as the weather was on the cooler side. I thought its supposed to be summer in bali lol...

Breakfast: was included in the deal, but we only ate here about 3 times. It was nice, you get fried eggs, omlettes, toast, crossoints, muffins, soup, fresh fruit, fruit juice, tea, coffee, sausages, bacon, different type of potato each day, and a few Indonesian dishes. I don't like to have the same thing every day, so we often went to blueskyz and had a banana pancake or an American breakfast or a jaffle. We aren't big breakfast people. The setting was lovely, you sit upstairs overlooking the hotel .

Pool: photos on the website and travel brochures, do not do this hotel any justice. It is so much nicer in person. The pool is just amazingly set up. There is a very quiet part of pool access room and there is a noiser part. We were in the noiser part closer to the swimup bar. We stayed 10 nights and on 3 of those nights we had loud rowdy people at around 3-4am. Very thin walls here hehehehehehehehe

I had room service one. I ordered t-bone steak, My husband asked for mashed potato instead of chips and the person taking our phone order and the chef got into a yelling match - so it was served with chips lol I didn't like it one bit, couldn't chew it at all (and I am considerably young with all my teeth lol) My hubby had pizza which he kindly shared with me, the pizza was nice.

Overall - would definitely stay here again! Great location, clean rooms, friendly staff.

Location is perfect, you have stalls as you walk out the hotel driveway, and then you walk 2 mins and turn left at Melasti Street and there is so much shopping to be done.

STAY TUNED FOR PART 2
