JHR6 - WHARFIE CHRONICLES - Lethal Weapon... Wednesday 11th August

I'm starting to recover from my belly blues of the last two days.I have decided that I am going to eat very little today but supplement my nubileness with plenty of fluids. Making sure I am always hydrated, and ready for the move to Seminyak

Up early this morning to do what little packing I have, I place nice and neat in my bag, and must remember to pop to the laundry in Jl Padma to pick up a few things I had dropped off yesterday. I make sure all my Clarins lotions are stacked so as not to break, and my L'Oreal stuff is placed in my man bag.I like to keep in touch with my feminine side you see. Without more ado, as we have to get cracking ready for midday pickup...we are off to breakfast.Remembering what I have promised myself, I just have a slice of toast with a solitary sausage, and a couple of cups of coffee.Mrs W tucks into her favourite fruit, and comments on how small my sausage looks. I look rather shocked as I am not used to anyone saying this to me. How dismissive.

I am glad that today was my last meal here, you will have gathered that I wasn't overly impressed, Mrs W can't understand why as she thinks it's one of the nicer brekky bars she has been to. Like the lethal weapon that I am , I bound back up the stairs and to our room, make sure all the cupboards are empty and then I go back outside , walk SOUTH up JL 66... and enter the little gang just past Blue Ocean. This brings me out on to JL Padma and a short walk back towards JL Arjuna brings me to the laundry. I fumble through my wallet to find my receipt, I hand over 30000 rp for the 8 items we have had washed, and I head back to the Outrigger. Only when I get home do I find out that my suave stripy PJ shirt is gone, and a pair of knickers... not mine I hasten to add. These are replaced by an XS Topshop t-shirt and some Bikini bottoms that must have belonged to Mrs Overweight sitting across from me on the plane. I comment to Mrs W that we can use these pair of acquired panties as a shopping bag or to fill a 3 metre piece of shade cloth in our patio.

All packed up, ready to go to the second part of our holiday at the Sanyas Suites, I go see the check out chick. Whilst I am in a very small queue , ( resembling the wait for immigration at the Airport), Mrs W takes the opportunity to go see ‘Mark'...(hmmmph....on first name terms are we?), who is the property reseller on site at the Outrigger. She comes back armed with all sorts of brochures, price lists and his business card. She's serious about buying a place here.

Spot on midday and Komang rocks up in a nicely appointed Avensis to take us to Seminyak, and, traffic not being too bad today, takes us around 20 minutes to arrive. Turning off Jl Pettitenget and into JL Cendrawasih I have already got my bearings, as I know we are within walking distance of Sarong, Living Room, Ku de Ta , La Lucciola etc. We are made to feel very welcome at the Sanyas Suite, and we are shown to our one bedroom Villa. What a change in decor to what we have just stayed in..this is true Balinese, and really beautiful. On the way in, I noted the location of Cafe Jemme, we will shortly head there for lunch. Having filled in the necessary paperwork, and ordered breakfast to be delivered at 8am in the morning, we unpack a few things, and acquaint ourselves with the surroundings. This takes at least five minutes , and Mrs W is very eager to get to lunch. Walking back along Jl Pettitenget, Cafe Jemme is around 300 metres from where we are staying. With my Olympic stride, I am soon there, but I am not going to eat, just enjoy a couple of drinks.

We are welcomed like royalty , shown to a table that is picking up a nice breeze. As I walk in, I stood still for a second and commented to Mrs W about how nice the picture was on the wall, silly me, it's a full length mirror! The waiter seat us, regails my lap with napkin and gives me a nice cold towel that I couldn't wait to drape around the back of my neck. Well the menu here is simply fantastic, well priced and good selection. if I had felt liek dining I'm sure I would have gone for the smoked Marlin, as it was, I was happy to sip on a nice iced minted tea. Mrs W had the lamb medallions, mash, puff pastry and snake beans, she said it was the nicest lamb she has ever had. She had a Mojito and chocolate pudding for dessert. I was a really naughty boy and just had to have some coconut ice cream with thick caramel sauce. Superb, and the bill was little over 300,000rp. if any of you are in the vicinity, do try, you will be impressed.

The manager was very concerned I hadn't eaten, and this was the attention I was craving, I did a good job of making her feel sorry for me and she spoke to us for ages about the business, the owner, the villa at the back and the success stort that has become Cafe Jemme. We depart, Mrs W heads off to do some window shopping in the locality, and I head back to Sanyas to put all my techie bits on charge. I hate it when my bits get run down. I jump up onto the very high bed, and have a chill for an hour... Mrs W comes back and starts reading up on the Outrigger stuff again..I told you..she's serios!

I'm starting to come good now, and I ask Mrs W where to go for dinner, and we both agree on Ku de Ta. Bad choice !! and I'm tempted to say, never again! Not because of the food, or the drinks, or the prices... we couldn't get a bloody seat !! There were so many people so far up their own butts , and the waiters asked some people, ( couples taking up table for six) to share a table , and they refused ! How rude is that! I even told them I was Wharfie, and I would be telling all of my thousands of friends on Facebook and on the Bali Travel forum. So you arrogant Russians, Italians, French, Germans and Poms... you can keep you Ku de Ta and shove it.... next time one of you ask to share a table with me in Brisbane, you know what's going to happen don't you?

Where to go now? We mention La Lucciola but reckon that will be just as busy , so we take the short stroll to the Breeze at Samaya. Security ask us what room we are in, and we tell them we are just passing and would like to have something to eat and drink. They check Mrs W's bag and let us through. What a gorgeous place! and we see plenty of free seats at the back of the resort. We sit and make ourselves comfy. By now, I had lost what bit of appetite I had, so we just share a bowl of chunkily cut rosemary fries with sambal, and Mrs W had a passion fruit Mojito whlst I had a traditional Martini... shaken not stirred (of course)

On the walk back we notice a really nice homeware shop, I'm sure I will be visiting the money changer before I come back here ! Back to the Sanyas, and to round off the night Mrs W goes and enjoys a one hour massage at the spa at the top of Jl Cendrawasih

Lots of mozzies tonight, and I'm glad of the 'zapper' we had previously bought at Bintang supermarket...could it be these bites that are making me feel ill?
More tomorrow...thanks for reading..Love Wharfie..xxx
