before we went on honeymoon to Vietnam 5 years ago a pharmacist in the city recommended taking a product called Betamin (it's a type of vitamin B). You start taking it a few days before you go and it builds up a resistance in your skin that the mozzies and other bugs don't like. We went into the jungle areas and didn't get bitten while everyone else was diving for the aeroguard and Deet.

Betamin is really cheep - about $4 for a bottle of 100 tablets. If you can't get it at your local pharmacy try pharmacyonline.com.au

I have been a die hard fan of this ever since - I have sensitive skin and hate all the sticky repellants. Although we did use Aeroguard spray around ankles and wrists when sitting outside in the evenings for extra protection.

Worked for us !
