I get my eyes tested here then take the script to Bali (although one time OPSM had put + instead of - on my script grrrr). I have found always that they do a bit of a hard sell after testing your eyes - don't say you're having your specs made in Bali, just say you're looking around for frames as you are very fussy & be sure to get your prescription.

You are entitled to a free eye test every 12 or 18 months with your Medicare Card. And you are entitled to keep your prescription.

Lately I have found that for my multifocal specs, lenses aren't much cheaper in Bali at the Optik shops than here (frames are much cheaper). I used Mr Honeyman in May for multifocal lenses for both sunnies & clear lenses & he was less than half the price of the Optik shops - Rp 1Million per set of lenses as opposed to Rp2.5Million (plus extra for tinting) at Optik shops.
