Optometrists test your eyes and bulk bill so its free for you. You are allowed 1 test per year.Take your medicare card with you. You dont have to buy your glasses from them. I got a script recently (bulk billed) for my work to get prescription safety glasses made. I am taking a copy of the script to Bali in 5 weeks. I use Melasti optics in the discovery centre and got a great pair of Hugo Boss sunnies last year. It cost me about $300 aus for multi focals.
