First time in Sanur for us and we loved it! I must admit I expected it to be quieter than what it was and was a little concerned it may have been too quiet but it was just perfect.

We stayed at the Puri Santrian in a Club room, lovely large room on the ground floor, a seperate dressing area and bathroom and also a large terrace. Well worth the money we paid (we normally stay in cheaper places) and I would stay there again. We were lucky enough to get really cheap fares with Air Asia last year so lashed out on the accomodation and were very impressed with the hotel. Breakfast was fantastic and hotel staff very nice and friendly. Not many Aussies there, lots of Europeans. This was our first time flying with Air Asia and they were great, nice smooth flight and friendly flight attendants. We did buy some food on the plane, very cheap and not bad at all.

Mostly just relaxed, read books, swam and did not much else at all. Restaurants we tried were Coriander, The Cat and Fiddle, Donalds, can't remember any more of the names but they were mostly close to the hotel, good meals at all. We meant to try Mezzanine as it was right at our hotel but just did'nt get around to it! Changed money at the Cirle K across the road, no problems.

Went over to Kuta twice to shop, only 20 minutes or so in a taxi. Sanur is not the place to stay if you want a real shopping holiday (which I did'nt), it was just so relaxing and Kuta is only a taxi ride away after all.

The highlight of the holiday was our visit to SD1 Sobangan to visit our two sponsor children for the first time. The whole class was waiting for us to arrive, the little boy (R) and little girl (S) were quite shy at first. Even their Mums had come to the school to meet us, Agung from the Rotary Club in Denpasar had also arranged to meet us there. We had taken small gifts for the kids, also some whiteboard markers etc for the school. It was a very overwhelming and emotional experience. I'm back in Bali in November (with my friend this time) and we are going to visit again then. For such a small amount of money you can make such a difference to a childs life, if anyone is thinking about doing this just do it!

After the school visit we went to our friend's family compound and met his Mum and other family members, we had'nt done this before and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Back in Bali in November (12 weeks and I can't wait....), staying 3 nights at Febris and then 7 nights at Kumala Pantai, looking for some cheap fares but no luck at the moment!

Thanks.
