We ate at lots of different restaurants, as you do, and some faves were Maccaroni , Indonational, Waroeng Tan Poh & Legian Pub (+ great time at karaoke - Son is an aspiring singer who they loved - always good for the proud Mum! lol)

I got some good bargains at the hairdressing suppliers at Denpasar. Dewi Fortuna, Jl Diponegoro 98, Komp. Kertawijaya C - 11, Denpasar Ph (0361) 235588. I was really surprised to find good brands like Matrix there (don't know why - I suppose I just thought they would have mainly local brands) Anyway, I didn't buy any of these as I use Keune brand in my salon. (I also couldn't believe it when I walked past a hairdresser and saw Keune banner in their window!) I mainly stocked up on combs, brushes, capes etc.

We were pleased with our leather from Bagus Tailor & Leather. Kuta Beach Street Khayangan Suci Line Ph 0361 - 767563. I got a knee length coat & 2 pair of different style calf/knee length boots and Hubby got a pair of short ‘Johnny Rebs' style boots. All up, it came to about $500AU. I think I could have bargained a bit harder and got a bit more off, but at the end of the day I also wanted a good job and didn't want to be back & forth if we weren't happy.

My Mum had told us that, as she had been to Bali a few times, she wouldn't be doing too much shopping (more interested in R&R) and there was sure to be plenty of room in her bags on the return flight. Famous last words! It took us a couple of attempts, and very long walk in the wrong direction, before we found a good driver who managed to take us to Alta Moda and then on to the textile clearance shops at Denpasar. (Sorry, don't have addresses, but if you want them I can probably get them from Mum) Thank goodness the kids weren't really into shopping!

After a few days, we were a bit over bartering so we paid a visit to Ketut's fixed price shop in Garlic Lane. We got lots of stuff here, both for ourselves and for gifts to take home. We will definitely be going back next trip.

We also went to Geneva and got a few gifts and stuff for ourselves. Good prices and like Ketuts, it was good to know what price to aim at when bartering on the street. Might check out Unagi or Biaritz as well next time.

Found lots of jewellery shops up in Legian, both Jl Legian & Rum Jungle Rd(?) Got some good bargains. Again, will go back to this area again.
