I just got an email back from John Hardy (jeweller in Bali) and they said they are closed March 4/5/6 because of Nyepi. Interestingly enough, some airlines still are booking flights into and out of Bali on March 5th as well as April 4th. I am convinced that it is March 5th as I've had this confirmed by my tour guide, travel agent in Bali, Pan Pacific Hotel Tanah Lot and now John Hardy.
There are a group of 18 of us from Canada arriving on Feb. 27th so as soon as I saw the date change from April 4th to March 5th, I started asking everyone that I knew in Bali if they confirm which was the correct date. It is weird that they changed the date but I guess that is an option when the 'celebration' is not a fixed date. We've been in Bali twice before for Nyepi and are really excited to be there again.
I could be wrong but at this point I'm feeling pretty confortable with all these confirmations.
