please be gentle with me, as this is my first attempt at a posting of any sort, let alone a JBR.
I will keep it brief.
I left Perth last friday, flying with Air Asia, not bad, had delays both ways however. Arrival in Bali customs was nightmare over two hours in line, will be using the VIP service for sure next time.
I stayed at Kuta Paradiso, liked location, standard hotel. Went to a few new places ie: Cocoon which was beautiful in Seminyak, lounged around the pool, really relaxing watching sunset and also tried the Rock Bar, prices were ridiculous but worth a visit for the view.
This was my first trip to Bali with a little one (and another on the way!!)
I took a cheapie umbrella type stroller, thinking that light is right, but after a day, the stroller was inoperable, and little one not keen to get in it anyway.
A family at the Paradiso mentioned the new Bali Baby Care shop next to the AFL shop, so a short walk later I was able to choose a newish imported Aussie stroller from a line up of different brands.
There was also car seats, porta cots, high chairs and the like and the staff told me that they can also arrange transport with child safety seats etc, so maybe next time.
This was a life saver for us, and it was good to select from a variety rather than just taking whatever may be delivered.
This opened up a new world with the (I am told) new beach path all the way from the Paradiso to the airport and back.
Later in the day, up the steps to Discovery Plaza for some "me time".
The best childrens clothes that I found was in Robinsons, in Denpasar, and there I bought 4 pairs of good quality shoes for an 18month old and also some snazzy jeans for him.
I got Bali Brumby to make two leather jackets for him, so now he is strolling about looking like the Fonz!
The exchange rate was good, but prices a little higher than before, only to be expected I suppose.
Back to reality now, and looking for those cheap Air Asia fares for the next trip, next time with a terrible twosome.
