there is no quick fix (or maybe even long fix) for this.
You can go to any nightspot in any main Australian city, and see behaviour that is totally disrespectful and unnacceptable.
Respect for people of our own kind, young and old is out the window, so what is the chance of anyone showing respect for peoples of other races or cultures.
Has the cheapo air fares opened up Bali to a new demographic, or have these people always been there?
I don't really know that it has got worse over the last few years, I believe that this sort of behaviour has always been there (since I have been going anyway).
Maybe now with low fares the numbers are higher, and therefore the problem more "in your face".
The only people to fix this (or at least improve it) are the Indonesians themselves.
If they can climb above the "you are a walking wallet, so I will accept unreasonable behaviour from you" mentality, and start to impose some reasonable expected standards, then we may slowly see a change.
