Agreed, most people hate this kind of thing. I bet a lot of you remember years ago when anyone in the check in queue at Denpasar airport wearing a singlet had to get a tee shirt or shirt from his bag or buy one before he was allowed to check in.

I suppose an information brochure included in the travel package from travel agents about what is and is not appropriate may help but with so many people booking their own flights via the Internet that still leaves a lot of people uninformed. Perhaps flyers at check in in Aus. or on arrival could help if the airlines would co-operate in this. Who would co-ordinate such a thing though? Maybe the Bali tourism body or the hoteliers association could be talked into it. Talked into it by whom I do not know.

It seems ridiculous that people need to be educated in this way but sadly it seems that they do.

Maybe one of those after the news so called current affairs shows could do something useful for once and actually run a segment (hopefully longer that 7 minutes) on the subject. That would certainly be watched by many who's intelligence is about on the level that is characterised by this kind of behaviour.

Not to say that all who watch these shows are unintelligent and like to behave like yobs but it does have a mass audience that may include these people.

I should admit up front for a strong distaste for the kind of sensationalist journalism that has people pursued down the street by cameras and guys with microphones. Hey that's just me, but the idea has some merit don't you think? Let's face it by Aug 17 there will be plenty of news journos sitting around outside Kerobokan slammer with nothing much to report whilst waiting for the Independence day announcements about who gets and who doesn't get clemency from SBY.
