Your husband could take one of the many boats to airport reef & going to Ulus etc the traffic is less horrid than from Kuta. Ulus would be enjoyable for you & bub but if husband surfs airport reef then there are lots of shops & a big mall in the Tuban area to occupy you.
You might also enjoy a trip to Lembongan for a week - good surf often. Not Nusa Dua - no surf. Sanur, maybe, depending on the conditions. Sanur is lovely - Sanur Beach Villas run by BloodyRon is a pleasant, budget place to stay.
Your husband should search the several Bali surf sites to find out where would be best to surf at that time of year. The weather is crazy this year - my husband is just back from 3 months surfing in Indonesia & conditions were far from usual.
