Applications office in Bali - Denpasar. You don't have to go to the consulate as there is an office especially for visa applications for those wishing to visit Australia located in Denpasar. Ask for a tourist visa application, and they will also give you a list of requirements to complete the application. A tourist visa application is very straight forward and if all relevant information is supplied and you fil the form in correctly then it can be approved in approx 5 days. The sponsor is required to give a copy of their passport, show copies of bank statements for the past 3 months with evidence that they have enough money to support the person that they are inviting to stay with them. A letter of invitation from the sponsor stating where the guest will be staying and what places you will be visiting while in Australia and that you will fully support them financially during their stay etc. There is a fee to pay when you apply. The guest (indonesian) must have a passport and ID card, and show proof of their job and if they are not self employed, perhaps a letter from their boss to show proof that they will return to their job. You can ask the Indonesian friend who will be sponsored to go to the applications office to get the form, and you can fax all your information to him in Bali...that is if you are not in Bali with him when he apply's as it can be done that way also.
