I have just purchased one,a Huawei E1550 from "Wellcome" shop in the Carrefour centre for Rp499000.Works good where I am with a IXL sim card.In regards to your service provider,be careful on which one you chose as they do not all work in all areas.
Stay away from the shop near the round about statue near aisport.A super rip off.At Rimo centre you can purchase one for Rp450000
