I originally was told that Nyepi was April 4th, 2011 but on July 8th, I received the following email (see below)from a travel agency in Bali advising that the 'new' date is March 5th. Being that I am going to be in Bali on March 5th (wtih 18 others from Canada who are now excited about being there for Nyepi!!!), I have also checked this date with others doing business in the tourism sector in Bali and they have all confirmed March 5th. It seems that since this is a very important date, it should be written in stone...but then again, maybe not. Just throwing in what I've been told but that might not be correct either.

"At the moment we got the information Nyepi Day will be 5th Mar 2011. Usually Nyepi will be held on March.
It will starts from 6am on 5th Mar into 6am on 6th Mar.

During 5th Mar there is no activities allowed to do outside of the hotel so no golf can be done.
Swimming pool is still open at day and usually in some hotel they will have certain activities could be done. At night the light will be low but in the room it will be normal.

On the night of 4th Mar, there will be a big ceremony on the road we call Ogoh-Ogoh parade. It will starts from 6pm-11pm."
