Hate reporting this kind of thing, but since we stayed there early May for 10 days, this issue has resurfaced several times.
We had one after another get sick. My husband who has never had Bali belly in dozens of trips was violently ill a few days after arriving. My daughter was hospitalized. Other friends were in bed 2 days after arriving. My 80yo Dad was ill for the entire stay. I was queasy, but not the full blown version like my daughter (thank goodness I could look after the kids!).
At first we thought the common factor was the "Club Cocktail Hours" and the snacks(not possible for my daughter), but then, it was "the Pool", and then maybe "brekky". We all rarely ate outside the hotel, and when we did, it didn't correlate.
We tried to complain to desk staff, but absolutely no response, so I emailed my feelings to them on our return. No response.
How would you know where it came from? But I think if everyone lets the Padma know of illness, then they will have a responsibility to look at measures to ensure that this does not spoil anyone else's holiday.
We are paying a premium price for our accommodation, and I would expect a premium of hygiene, at the very least.
