Bottled water to brush your teeth, that is way over the top!

I have lived here for past 12 years, use tap water, and never a problem. We laugh at the tourists who still demand 'no ice' in drinks! After all you kill germs in water by boiling, or freezing! And in any case hygenic ice production has been the norm for 15 years now!

There are two sources of tap water in Bali, one government, ex the natural dams of Kintamani, etc., and the main supply which comes out of the ground [Bali Water as the locals call it. They refuse to drink the tap water ex govt, only using it for garden, showering and washing dishes as like everywhere else in the world chemicals [flouride, etc.] are added to it...in case Jakarta are trying to poisin them!]. As I live in the mountains of Ubud the water is pure and clean. The major problem area for tap water is the over-saturated Kuta-Legian area where the soil is sandy and sea water is found, along with body efluents, only a few metres down from the surface. It that area NO tap water should ever be drunk but as for brushing teeth???
