JBR Part 2 ...........6th June -

Overall we loved TS and Ubud and will return without children in tow !! On our last day we strolled through the Monkey Forest as we were so close and enjoyed it..

OK down to Legian where we are staying at Puri Damai for the next 11 nights. We had a 2 bedroom apartment which was perfect for the 4 of us with 2 bathrooms and an extra toilet downstairs.
While there met Gary and Alison from the forum and also Paul and Julie who were our neighbours for afew days, had a couple of poolside drinks and swapped story's etc.
Nice to meet you guys.
As we have stayed in Legian many times I know the area well and it feels like coming home !!
I always have my restaurant list with some old favourites and new ones to try so we ate at the following places :-

Café Marzano Chandi
66 Café La Sal
Warung Asia Jadi cafe
Pearl Warung Murah
Lannai Warung Kartini
Blue Ocean Colonial Living
Lucky Day Panterei
Nirvana Biku

Our absolute faves were Chandi and Pearl and they are definately on the list for next time.
We were happy with all our meals though except for the night at La Sal which was so dissapointing. It was my choice to go there with a group of friends so there were 12 of us all together. The first blow was to tell the men after ordering 3 beers that they had run out of beer !!!!! You have got to be kidding !!??
Then the service was just so bad, they seemed to have no-one managing the restaurant so some ( female)staff would bring food out to then give it to another ( male ) waiter who then put it on the table but they had no idea who ordered what etc, some meals came out within 10 mminutes while others took aboout 45 mins. One of our group sent her main meal back as the baby ribs were so tough they were inedible, then they brought her salad out 10 minutes later and then it was as if we became invisible !! No more drinks offered and we had to ask for the bill twice before we could leave and go somewhere else for a drink !! Most of the meals were fine it was just the one bad one but the service was so bad for the prices they charge. I have eaten here twice before and loved it but never again.

Our eldest is Vegetarian and so her absolute faves were Café Marzano which she says makes THE best pizzas EVER eaten !! And she loved Colonial Living in JLn Kunti which is purely vego menu.
