Most of us avoid Merpati, always running late and often cancelled flights. Recently the passengers forced open the emergency exits on the ground at Mataram airport before take-off on the AMP-DPS flight as smoke was pouring into the cabin. Forget about the cost, fly Garuda. Leaves Bali early evening returning mid evening to link with most International flights. 12 times and only once late [20 minutes] so far for me. Many days I had sat at either airport for 3-4 hours waiting for the next flight aftre the one I had booked was either delayed or cancelled when I used to fly Merpati before Garuda commenced flying that route 12 months ago. There are other small airlines if you prefer to fly with prop jets, shaking all the way. I prefer a Garuda jet, even though it only takes 20 minutes!
