However, it's still there among the back streets and living compounds around Kuta, Tuban, Seminyak and Legian, much as it's been for many years.
Naturally, traffic has increased a lot, sometimes due to large influx of domestic tourists, enjoying the benefits of improved economic circumstances.
Yobbos??.....yes, but not confined to Kuta by any means.
I guess that there may be an initial perception that one can avoid "sleeze" by going to other holiday destinations, like Vietnam or Thailand....but I think this is out of the frying pan and into the fire (And a much hotter and sleazier fire at that??!).
I believe that you will be dissapointed with any of the "iconic" holiday destinations, and will need to find somewhere off the tourism beaten track to satisfy your expectations.
