it is worth what they can get for it. The Gilis are massively popular at the moment, and have limited accommodation. If they can sell at that rate, then it's market driven. I agree that it is not value for money, but some people are easily parted with their money for poor value.
I personally think it's a rip off and I would be put off staying anywhere that had such a large hike in rates for the peak season, as it indicates that the hotel's owners are greedy.
Others don't do it. Mimpi Manis in Kuta mentioned that they have been full all this month (another area with limited accommodation). I can guarantee their rates are barely any different between high and low season.
