We only did 2 day trips this time, Waterbom of course and Safari Park. I made the trek from Legian to Kuta day before we were off to Waterbom to prebook cabana, only to be told no in peak time! not happy jan... so we were there 9.15am next day and managed to get a good spot and cabana, no-one hardly around so kids go free reign on all rides for some time with no queue, Climax was a hit but only the once funnily enough, we pretty much didn't queue until lunchtime so the trick is to get there early, love the whole cabana thing....
Safari Park - somehow got a driver to take us there for 200,000 and he waited...took about 45 mins from Sanur. Once again, from infor on this forum, I knew to get there early, we were there by 9.30am, straight onto a tram ride which was great then raced to the animal show at 10am, to the Elephant feeding where they let my kids jump over and I could get photos, both had photos with the sleeping tiger (which I had done onto canvas back at Hardy's super cheap). daughter wasn't feeling the best this day and after lunch fell in a heap, we went to pool area where she laid down while myself and son had a swim, course we didn't take a towel so I had to buy one for 65,000. We left after this & driver said on way home I will take you to special turtle place, it was on an ïsland', can't for life of me remember the name, they were friends of his and run a turtle conservation programme, we got to feed them and have photos but of course 5 ladies appeared out of nowhere & we had to purchase some over-priced souvenirs for the pleasure LOL but we didn't mind, had a laugh....
We needed to go back to Legian to pick up suits/leather etc one day, negotiated with driver for 200,000 return...it took 3.5hrs, we left Sanur 2.30pm...it was horrendous...we had also dropped back our cushion cover that was too big (to Total Cushions) but of course that then needed picking up on our last day in Bali, no way was hubbie returning to Legian he said...he ended up going into a shop in Sanur, paid a guy 100,000 and said go pick this up for me and I'll give you another 100,000 on return - he did! yay for us.
One night at tea the waiter talked us into going snorkelling next day, well it took some convincing my husband but what an experience, they picked us up at villa, it was 50,000 each, went out in his brothers boat out to reef, just us and the 2 of them, they gave us fish food to squirt into water & it was amazing, fish came from everywhere...then took us to different spot more for the coral. Great time and all over in 2hrs, definitely do it that way again.
Had all the usual spa treatments, hubbie had a daily massage, just went where he felt like it, I had pedi/mani, facial and body scrub, so did daughter, great little salon down on beach near Bali Hyatt that we used a few times, body scrub was awesome on last day but took my tan off LOL. there are so many places to go to, don't think you can go really wrong, I usually judge by look on the outside.
Overall a great holiday, accomm was the main disappointment, loved everything else, especially shopping! Hopefully we can save and return in 2yrs time, daughter doing yr 12 next year so we are concentrating on that.
