We were in a first floor room and it was like being in Africa for two days! Great facilities, great bed, good shower, good TV and ability to use laptop in our room. Staff were great too. Went to the Lion restaurant for dinner (mediocre food and overpriced, but what-the-heck, was only one meal) but I loved holding the snake they had in the foyer as we arrived for dinner. Special to be able to see the lions through the glass, so close.

Also fun to be able to throw veges provided in our room to the wildlife. Nelson the rhino was huge and spent most of his day wandering the fields below our room, along with other livestock.
The bus trip around the safari park was fabulous and I was glad I had fresh batteries in our camera because I took so many photos.

I had been on a day trip the year before to bring my mother to pat a tiger, and she had her wish, but I had no desire to do that so saved the price of that. You can get to hold an orangutang and pat a lion cub too (at a price), depending on what is on display.

The elephant rides would be fun for older children, I think. There is a great elephant show that you really should not miss...and take your camera to that too!
