That's horrible news about Ayu being laid off. I'm another of the ex-GVC stayers who moved on when the timeshare stuff started. Actually, we'd had issues the previous year with the rooms we'd booked not being available when we arrived, and having management try to shaft us into the delapidated falling down bungalows, then the awful Balinsani up the road etc. Ayu was the one who had to keep telling us their shonky offers, and she was very apologetic because she knew it wasn't good enough. Of course we didn't blame her for it because we knew it was coming from above.
Still, last year we stayed elsewhere but still dropped in to visit Ayu and Daisy and they were as lovely as ever.
It's a shame, but the hotel management has really lost the plot over the last 3 years or so - and the end result is that people just won't go back, which then negatively impacts the staff and their job security.
