Did the trip in late October with 23 yo son from Kuta. Collected at 7am (no other collections - just us) for a pleasant scenic 90 min trip (there is a vile way to go through horrid dusty, ugly towns) to Ubud where we went to 2 hotels to collect others - no biggie. If you are staying in Ubud then it's 9am pick up. We were staying in Ubud that night & were dropped off to our hotel there after the ride. Our baggage was well looked after.

To stave off any hunger pangs I had crackers & some things from BreadTalk & JCo Donuts I bought the evening before.

The stop at the coffee etc plantation was excellent - interesting, great views & a chance to sample lots of different coffees & teas & some chocolate (which, BTW I use in cooking often).

Then to breakfast at Kintimani overlooking the crater of Mt Batur (not Mt Agung, Docker - different direction). Brekky was nothing to rave about but OK & how often do you get to dine on the rim of a semi-active volcano? Smoke issues from fissures. Spectacular views. The tour leader will tell of the eruptions etc (most recently in 1994).

Then to the start point. There were 3 groups, staggered. They took a lot of care to ensure riders were suited to bikes. I stayed in the support vehicle & was included in everything (apart from the hot, sweaty stuff). Several informative stops along the way.

Lunch at about 2pm at Wayan's home was just lovely - great Balinese food.

I guess since you don't have much time this trip might not be an option for you. If you have any queries you could email Wayan. I have provided as much info as I can & I hope you can make an informed decision. I guess it mainly depends on the ages of your kids. Not for small ones. I'd say 10 or 12 up.
