Don't worry Reculvers as I am sure you will meet some lovely people. I always travel on my own and leave in just over 3 weeks for a lovely 6 week stay. I have made some lovely friends over there and I may not have done that if I wasn't on my own. It takes you a bit out of your comfort zone and you really do have to make that extra effort to talk to people. It is good that you will be going to places you know, so you will feel quite at home. I agree that probably the night time is the hardest when you want to go out for a meal on your own, but I don't go there to stay in my hotel, so just go and enjoy it. I go out often at night to places I have come to know the staff etc so don't feel uncomfortable at all any more, and you always meet someone to talk to. Have a great time, and enjoy doing what you want when you want.
