SIM cards

I'm leaving on Sunday 18th July from Perth on Strategic for 13 nights at the Ramayana . Any suggestions for where a slightly deaf senior can buy a local SIM card / phone card for calling / texting Australia on an unlocked mobile ? Thanks in anticipation.
