I am staying at the Niche now, it is clean and friendly, the rooms have an LCD TV and a DVD player and fridge. I have stayed here when it was the Samsara, the differences are that food is now available 24 hours, there is internet available including wifi (25 000 per hour)they offer a laundry service and there are no signs saying keep the party on Legian Street anymore. I have found it noisier than previous stays and there are a lot of young people staying here.
In regards to the maintenance and renovations that are being done, we were also informed that were going on and chose to still come, we have had no interuptions or are even really aware of anything going on.
I am sure you will enjoy your stay.
