You should have a blood test as you need to know. There are four types of Dengue and you can't catch the same strain twice. Dr said first time you get Dengue you have a 1 in 100 chance of dying. 2nd time is 10 in 100 and so on, so it's important not to get it again and use a good repellent with high amounts of DEET in the day time. We used the local product 'Off' but never again.

Paul's initial test was a false negative but this is very common and was advised to re test when the antibodies 'kick in'. Bloods went to Queensland and Westmead Hospital and can take a couple of weeks. There is also another mozzie born virus around Bali called Chikungunya which has similar symptoms to Dengue.
