It's on the way to Kintimani. Tagalalang is about 6 ks from Ubud but stretches for several more ks with shops on both sides of the road. It's not just one area.
My fave place is close to Kintimani on the left - huge, very good prices, no hassling & don't bargain much as the prices are cheap to begin with. I have bought many things there & no problems with Quarantine re: bugs.
The scenery is spectacular & there is a great restaurant about midway along - Kampung Cafe?? Cafe Kampung?? Forget - off to the right down a steepish hill - well worth a visit. Lots of places to buy lovely fruit close to Kintimani.
There are 3 routes to Kintimani from Ubud. Get a map or a guide book, or a driver. Along the way on the Tegalalang route at an intersection you will find (or rather she will find you) a delightful lady who will bless your car, give you an offering for the dashboard & rice for your brow - just lovely - she's an extortionist but who cares.
I HIGHLY recommend doing this trip from Ubud.
