Been stopped for things like no helmet ,leaving headlight on during day.stopping at trffic lights when red but apparently you dont stop when turning left ,find it helps to put a 20 or 50 th note in the licence. when pulled up they look at licence , hand it back and of you go. saves haggling and will probably save a few bucks.I once asked a taxi driver what he considerd to be a good job in bali ,he replied a policeman, when i asked him why he doesnt work towards being one he replied he could not afford the bribe money needed to join.
