With 2 sons that age I'd definitely try for something with a bit of space/privacy.
Not sure on the price but Arca Bungalows have 2 bedrooms & 2 bathrooms.
They used to be part of Sri Ratu but are now managed by the owner.
They have had minor renovations done.
No pool but there are pools nearby at Sri Ratu, Lumbung Sari & Je Je's which I'm sure you could use if you had a meal there etc.
Lumbung Sari also have rooms that would probably suit (maybe not ground floor though)or even 2 std rooms on the ground floor.

Also have comments re triple rooms at Puri Tanah Lot & Rosani (which is next door) under Kuta at link below.
Puri Etnik , located just after Chamlung Mas & before Sayang Maha Mertha also has Family & Triple rooms (not sure if ground floor)
