re teenagers in Bali but whenever we buy clothes for our local friends children - If they are a 3 year old boy we buy clothes that fit an Aussie 2 year old boy.If they are a 6 year old girl we buy clothes that fit an 5 year old Aussie girl.Most of the time that has worked for us.
It's been a while since I have a young teen but I think a lot of the time the clothes in teen stores come in XS,S,M & L or 10,12,14 etc.Depending in how old the teen is I think I would just buy a size smaller than you would normally get.I would also get something cotton or cotton blend rather than nylon.
