Until my last disappointing experience of non-completion of my order, I had always had my shoes made at Adi Ayu Shoe Shop on Jl Legian, but on this trip, I decided to try 2 different shops - Albino Shop on Jl Legian No 383(between Melasti & Padma Streets on the seaward side) ph 0361757502 & Merry's Collection in Padma Utara.

Both shops produced pleasing results of the sandals which I had copied, but I was impressed when Albino's called me to tell me that the colour leather I had chosen wasn't quite as dark in the current batch, and perhaps I would like to check out this colour before they proceeded with the order.I'm sure that many forumites will have experienced the disappointment when on calling into a shop to pick up their order, that another colour/marterial etc has been substituted for their original choice. So Kudos to Albino's for their professionalism.

Whilst this minor problem added another 2 days to the order, I was very impressed with the finished result, with the zip matching the leather, care being taken to blacken the sole edge to match the small heel, and shoe grips glued to the leather on the lower soles.

The price for the sandal was 300,000Rp, with no extra charge for the metallic leather, which was used on more than half of the sandal.

Also, when I visited the shop on another occasion, an Indonesian lady was discussing shoe styles/prices etc for a new range which they were making for her boutique shop, so that gave me confidence that this shop was known for their workmanship.

Unfortunately, I did not have time to have my 2-tone leather ballet flats copied, but they did give me a price of 330-350,000Rp, and I will have those done in November when I return.

They also make leather bags, other leather items and appear to "specialise" in Python Snake leather, with many shoe styles and sandals on display in their shop. Their email address is: jakachoice@yahoo.com & the person I dealt with at the shop was called Ary.
