We spent $150.00 a day for two people. This included food, drinks, tours. taxis, bike hire and we did purchase a few things not a lot though.
Food and drinks have gone up quite a bit since we were there last November 09.
You can choose to eat cheaply, which is mainly Indonesian food, however we chose to eat at better establishments this trip.
Eating at better establishments doesn't exclude you from Bali Belly either as we well and truly found out.
On average people take $100 a day per person which includes, food, drinks, taxi, tours, shopping etc.
Do have cash only handy if you have to call a doctor to your room, as it cost 1,690,000 rupiah x 4 for us.
I hurt my back when we first arrived lifting a bag that cost me 4,500,000 rupiah for treatment, x ray costs at SOS hospital were 550,000.
Thankfully we took extra money as I always do just in case and unfortunately we needed it this trip.
DO NOT LEAVE HOME WITHOUT TRAVEL INSURANCE PLEASE.
The above amount was over and above of the $150.00 we spent a day for 2.
Just while I'm on the subject about Bali Belly there were a lot of people this trip in our that got Bali belly.
We were a group of 60 staying all over the island in different hotels and location and more than half got Bali Belly and 7 have not fully recovered as yet. Even some of the people who attended the wedding got Bali Belly from the food that was served.
Its better to take more and bring it back if you don't use it.
Hospitals do take credit cards.
This is my opinion and I hope it helps.
