hi, im 18 iv been to bali many times id rather go there then goldcoast its way more safer cheaper and i wouldnt suggest staying in anywhere in kuta at all especially! a few great places that alot of schoolies kids from melbourne are going to is Jayakarta hotel in legian its great near the beach got nice restaurants down the road big pools ect perfect schoolies place! even if u dont stay at jayakarta dont go near kuta to stay, kuta if fun and fine to go out in during the night (clearly being careful along the way) legian just has that more nice relaxed feel were the people are nice and i generally feel its less "scum". so all i can say is jayakarta similar people going schoolies 18 or so ect, just try get out of kuta!!
ps im glad ur letting ur daughter go to bali, im going again by myself and my boyfriend and friends aswell in june/july aswell as nov/dec :) hope that healps :) :)
