I would take cash. ATM fees work out expensive after a few withdrawals. I would take mainly $100 notes cashing one each day. A couple of $50 notes and I always take $50 made up of 2x $20$ notes and a $10 for the last days if I think all shopping is done and I only need taxi fare or drink maybe change the smaller notes if you don't want to bring home Rp. Also I use credit card to finalize the hotel account.
