Sea pearls or fresh water pearls? and how many / length of string? Individual knot? Silk thread? I'm trying to figure out from your post if you mean a single pearl set in gold, or a string of pearls?
Lombok only has a sea pearl industry. NO fresh water pearls are grown in Lombok (despite what Safrudin says - whether he knows it or not - his freshwater pearls are from China, not that there is anything wrong with that - they are real pearls).
A quality SEA pearl starts at around $100 EACH PEARL, with high quality pearls much more. Make sure that the pearl is not too heavy for its size (indicates it has a large glass bead inside).. Look for flaws in the nacre - for that price it should not have too many flaws - and even colour.
