Hi there, having been there a couple of times thought I could pass on some info. Best to stay at least one or two nights, most of the accommodation is at the village of Pemuteran, you can book snorkeling trips through your accommodation, but you might find this is double the price than organising to go with a dive company yourself. Diving companies take snorkellers too over to Menjangan. There are quite a few dive companies up there.

We have stayed at Taman Sari, very nice spacious place with a range of accommodation. Also stayed at Jubawa Homestay, a lot cheaper, very clean and air con with a restaurant and dive centre attached, we used for a snorkeling trip on one occasion, quite reasonable, but no swimming pool there. www dot easy-divers dot you should be able to google them.

For our next visit in October we have decided to stay at Taman Sari again, but are doing our snorkeling with Easy Divers at Pemuteran, as they are very reasonably priced, include snorkel gear in their prices and good customer service on email contact.

Other way to organise snorkeling is to get your way down to the Ranger station about 10-15 km from Pemuteran (bemo towards Gillimanuk) and you can get a boat, skipper and allocated a Ranger (who snorkels with you as it is a National Park area). If there are others wanting to go as well it would work out cheaper to hook up with them.

Enjoy, I think the Menjangan Island ledge is absolutely fantastic!
