Ubud for a night or 2 - so much for someone interested in art & gardening to see & do there. Ask your driver to take the scenic route. Neka Art Museum is great & you could have a superb lunch across the road at Tropical Bale set in rice fields.
Your friend might enjoy a bike tour - you are collected from your hotel, driven to Kintimani for brekky overlooking the volcano VIA a spice farm/coffee plantation. The scenery en route is memorable. A must. Plenty of info here on bike tours.
